Church Administrator

JOB TYPE

Monday through Friday from 9:00 am – 3:00 pm (30 hours/week).

 

COMPENSATION:

$25.00 / hour based upon experience.

 

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Union Baptist Church, Trenton, NJ, is looking for a Church Administrator. We are a Baptist church, who are looking for a Church Administrator to join our team and help our organization run as efficiently as possible by overseeing daily operations. Ultimately, you will work with different staff and volunteer members to ensure the church operates as efficiently as possible. 

The right candidate will be committed to long-term service, be comfortable in a fluid environment, self-motivated, and a team player. RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Managing all aspects of the daily office environment including, but not limited to, office maintenance, ordering supplies, and other duties to ensure the office operates smoothly and efficiently.
  • Coordinate and schedule meetings, and conference calls on behalf of Pastor, ministry leaders, and church officials.
  • Oversees weekly payroll for church staff by contacting our payroll vendor to report weekly payroll hours, resolving any discrepancies with payroll vendor, and maintains file of employee timesheets.
  • Coordinate office equipment maintenance and initiate repair requests with building management and outside vendors.
  • Manages the church calendar of events. Works closely with Pastor, and church leaders in coordinating, planning, and executing church events. Notifies building security and cleaning teams.
  • Prepares letters, journal ads, and correspondence as requested by Pastor and church leadership.
  • Serve as liaison with guest preachers and facilitators. Make travel and hotel arrangements, order guest welcome gift baskets.
  • Creates and maintains vendor files, sorts, and distributes mail.
  • Takes initiative in reviewing accounts to determine cost effectiveness of contracts and lease agreements.  Make recommendations to the Trustee Chair.
  • Builds and maintains a strong working relationship with the Pastor, church leaders, and congregation.

 


REQUIREMENTS:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite including Excel and Powerpoint.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Ability to maintain confidential and sensitive information.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and accommodate short deadlines.
  • Must have strong communication skills – verbal, written, and presentation.
  • Detail-oriented, good editing, writing, punctuation, and proofreading skills necessary
  • Flexibility in scheduled work hours based upon special events and regular weekend services.
  • A minimum of 2 years of office experience is preferred.

AV and Live Streaming Specialist

Part-time – approximately 5 – 10 hours/week.

 

COMPENSATION:

$20.00 – $25.00 / hour based upon experience.

 

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Union Baptist Church, Trenton, NJ, is looking for an Audio-Video / Live Stream Specialist. We are a Baptist church, who are looking for someone with a high level of AV and streaming experience to work within our live stream services, but also has the creative touch in video production.

You will be responsible for delivering all the live streaming for worship services, learning the platforms, and need to be able to problem-solve on the fly to fix problems quickly and efficiently for our internet audience. You will be responsible for the creation of public content to be played on any number of platforms, including broadcast television, internet, and church services. In this dynamic position, you can expect to be working on several projects at once, work under strict deadlines, and be an active part of a creative team. You will need the ability to effectively pitch ideas, offer creative solutions to problems, and think of innovative ways to reach the desired audience.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide leadership by staying current with trends and improving the use of media and live streaming.
  • Program and operate the video switcher and cameras through live production of all worship services & special events.
  • Understand and troubleshoot the HD/SD-SDI broadcast-based video system
  • Create videos for worship services, special events, conferences, and productions; produces media promotions, announcements, and testimonials as needed
  • Prepare background slides for worship songs, announcements, sermon outlines, and scripture verses.
  • Keep control room area current by presenting a professional working environment & maintaining accurate equipment inventory.
  • Work with the Trustee Ministry on any technical needs or equipment purchases
  • Keeping accurate paperwork for warranty and maintenance issues.
  • Manage and perform the maintenance schedule for all technology equipment necessary for delivering all AV content.
  • Research and develop new products and make new project recommendations.


REQUIREMENTS:

  • Experience running a live stream service via the internet across multiple platforms; preferably BoxCast.
  • Applied experience in creating and editing video and print media and graphic design
  • Experience using church presentation software; preferably MediaShout.
  • The ability to manage priorities, work independently as well as part of a team, and work on multiple concurrent projects is essential.
  • Must have technical knowledge of all aspects of video editing, including importing content, working with a variety of compression formats, basic audio sweetening, and DVD authoring.
  • Must be able to work with footage from varying formats and qualities ranging from mobile phones to HD footage, as well as the ability to make the file formats work seamlessly together.
  • Must be willing to work on a variety of projects which vary in length, including short, quick turnaround projects (which take a few hours) to projects that take several weeks to complete.
  • Must have strong communication skills – verbal, written, and presentation.
  • Proficiency in live video production and HD-SDI Video Systems, Video Switcher, Camera, matrix router, recording gear, and digital video equipment — Final Cut Pro, Adobe After Effects, Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, and MS Office.
  • Detail-oriented, good editing, writing, punctuation, and proofreading skills necessary
  • Flexibility in scheduled work hours based upon special events and regular weekend services.
