DANCE MINISTRY
In accordance with Psalm 150, our Pastor Reverend
Simeon D. Spencer envisioned the development of the Union Baptist Church
Ministry of Dance. Pastor Spencer's vision was brought to life in March of 1998.
Classes as well as rehearsals are held on Saturday mornings at 10:00 a.m. until
1 :00 p.m. In class, the students are reminded that our purpose in this Ministry
is to glorify God and lift Him up in praise through dance. We have a regularly
scheduled Bible Study pertaining to dance which teaches us scriptually-based
lesson. During class, basic ballet techniques, worship & praise and prayer are
taught. The Dance Ministry also holds an annual recital in June.
Aside from ministering on the second Sunday (Youth Sunday) of each month, the
Dance Ministry travels to local churches to participate
in Black History Month Programs; Women's Celebration; Youth Celebration; Youth
Programs; as well as at local nursing homes every 1st Sunday.
The Dance Ministry would like to express their sincere gratitude to our Pastor
Rev. Simeon D. Spencer for allowing the gift of dance to be expressed by God's
children.
Psalms 150:4
Praise him with the timbrel and dance: praise him with stringed instruments and
organs.
