Addictions Recovery Compassion

Helping Our People Endure

Congregational Assistance Program (CAP)

Alcohol, drug, tobacco and other addictions plague our community and are often factors in the dysfunction and breakup of families. They contribute to incidences of domestic violence, child abuse or neglect, school dropout, job and financial losses, neglect with one's relationship to God, and even loss of life. Through intervention and faith, addictions can be successfully treated and even prevented.

The goal of the CAP Team is to provide education, information, informal intervention, outreach, and referrals to our church family about alcohol, drug, and other abuses. Our team members have completed the training for Congregational Assistance Programs presented by the Mercer Council on Alcoholism and Drug Addiction. Of course, we always maintain the confidentiality of those to whom we minister. Our Ministry sponsors events to raise awareness of the problems of addiction and provides the resources for prevention and recovery, including booklets. Additionally, several copies of the Life Recovery Bible have been placed in the UBC library.

Hebrews 11:1

CHOIR / MUSIC

The main purpose of the Choir Ministry is to blend many talents and personalities into a composite force to provide inspiration, warmth, and unity to a service.

Our Choir Ministry provides traditional church hymns, anthems, classical and contemporary sacred music.

Whether in practice or service, please keep in mind these basic principles: if a Ministry (choir) for the Lord is worthy of our service, it is also worthy of our best effort and effective use of our God-given talent. We dedicate our lives to the Choir Ministry and pray that God receive the honor and glory of our service.
